Facility Layout

6 Specialized Manufacturing Zones

Our facilities are organized into dedicated production zones, each designed and equipped for a specific stage of the rubber manufacturing process โ€” ensuring process discipline, contamination control, and operational efficiency.

Zone 01

Raw Material Storage

Temperature-controlled storage facility housing 50+ rubber compounds and specialty chemicals. Strict FIFO inventory management with full material traceability from certified suppliers worldwide.

Zone 02

Mixing & Compounding

15-ton internal mixers and open mills enabling precise compound formulation. Our in-house laboratory develops and validates custom rubber recipes to exact hardness, resilience, and chemical resistance specifications.

Zone 03

Extrusion & Calendering

Continuous rubber profile extrusion lines producing cord, tubing, seals, and custom profiles to close dimensional tolerances. Calendering lines handle sheet stock for gasket blanking and laminated composites.

Zone 04

Compression & Transfer Molding

150+ hydraulic presses ranging from 50 to 500 tonnes. Compression and transfer molding cells handle everything from simple flat gaskets to complex multi-cavity tools with insert components.

Zone 05

Injection Molding

Precision rubber injection molding for complex geometries, tight tolerances, and consistent part weight. Ideal for automotive and medical components requiring flash-free surfaces and repeatable dimensions.

Zone 06

Quality Control Lab

Fully equipped metrology and testing laboratory: dimensional inspection, tensile and elongation testing, Shore A/D hardness, compression set, chemical resistance, and accelerated aging โ€” all traceable to NABL-accredited standards.

Quality Systems

Built on a Foundation of Certified Quality

Every aspect of Harkesh's manufacturing process is governed by our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, covering both Mumbai and Gujarat facilities. The QMS defines responsibilities, procedures, and performance metrics for every function โ€” from supplier qualification to final product release.

In-process quality control checkpoints are embedded at each production stage. Statistical process control (SPC) charts are maintained for critical dimensions and process parameters, enabling our engineers to detect and correct drift before non-conforming product is produced.

Full material and batch traceability is maintained from raw compound receipt through to finished goods dispatch. Each shipped part carries a traceable lot code that links back to compound batch records, press logs, cure cycle data, and inspection results โ€” supporting our customers' own traceability and audit requirements.

Quality Laboratory Equipment

  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

Sub-micron dimensional verification of complex rubber part geometries.

  • Shore A & Shore D Hardness Testers

ASTM D2240-compliant hardness measurement across all compound types.

  • Universal Tensile Testing Machine

Tensile strength, elongation at break, and modulus per ASTM D412.

  • Compression Set Test Apparatus

ASTM D395 Method B measurement for sealing applications.

  • Chemical Immersion Bath

Volume swell and weight change in oils, fuels, and chemical media.

  • Accelerated Aging Oven

Heat aging per ASTM D573 for long-term performance prediction.

  • Profile Projector / Optical Comparator

Non-contact dimensional inspection of O-ring cross-sections and seal profiles.

  • FTIR Spectrometer

Incoming compound identity verification and failure analysis.

From Material to Dispatch

Our End-to-End Manufacturing Process

01

Raw Material Inspection

Incoming rubber compounds and chemicals are tested against certificates of conformance and internal specifications before release to production.

02

Compound Mixing

Approved raw materials are loaded into internal mixers. Batch records capture temperature, time, and energy curves for each compound lot.

03

Molding & Extrusion

Mixed compound is transferred to compression, transfer, or injection molding presses โ€” or to extrusion lines โ€” depending on part geometry.

04

Post-Cure & Finishing

Parts undergo oven post-cure to relieve stress and complete crosslinking. Deflashing, trimming, and surface treatment follow as required.

05

QC & Dispatch

Final inspection against customer drawings and internal AQL plans. Approved parts are bagged, labelled with full traceability codes, and dispatched.

Responsible Manufacturing

Environment, Safety & Compliance

Frequently Asked Questions

Factory Tour โ€” Common Questions

What is the total manufacturing area of Harkesh facilities?
Harkesh Rubber Products operates two manufacturing facilities โ€” our primary plant in Mumbai, Maharashtra and a second facility in Gujarat โ€” with a combined total floor area exceeding 50,000 sq ft. Both sites house production, warehousing, quality control labs, and administrative functions.
Can customers visit the Harkesh factory?
Yes. We welcome customers, procurement teams, quality auditors, and business partners for factory visits. Visits can be arranged by contacting our team in advance. A dedicated coordinator will prepare a tour schedule aligned with your areas of interest โ€” production processes, QC lab, or tooling capabilities. Please use the 'Request a Visit' form or contact us directly.
What production capacity does Harkesh have?
Our combined facilities house 200+ production machines including hydraulic presses (50โ€“500 tonnes), extrusion lines, internal mixers, and injection molding units. We run three production shifts daily, enabling us to handle large-volume orders and urgent requirements without compromising lead times. Actual capacity varies by product type โ€” contact us with your specific volume requirements.
Does Harkesh operate 24 hours a day?
Yes. Our facilities operate on a three-shift schedule, seven days a week, providing round-the-clock production capability. Critical production lines and quality checkpoints are staffed on all three shifts to maintain consistent product quality and on-time delivery performance.
What quality systems are implemented in the factory?
Harkesh is ISO 9001:2015 certified across both manufacturing sites. Our quality system encompasses in-process statistical process control (SPC), full material and batch traceability, incoming goods inspection, final AQL-based inspection, and a fully equipped metrology lab with CMM, tensile testers, hardness testers, and chemical resistance equipment. We also comply with RoHS and REACH requirements for relevant product lines.
